HIQA Public Consultation on the Draft Standards for Children’s Residential Centres

The Health Information and Standards Directorate in HIQA has developed Draft National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres. The draft standards, which are based on national and international evidence, were developed with key stakeholders. They have been developed to improve the care and support provided to children in residential care. The standards will apply to all children’s residential centres and are a framework for best practice in providing child-centred, safe and effective care and support to children in residential care across Ireland.

We would like to hear your views on the draft standards, which are available for public consultation for a six-week period. We encourage all interested parties to provide feedback and become involved in the standards development process by submitting their views.

There are several ways to tell us what you think:

  • You can complete the online questionnaire available here.

  • Your comments can be submitted by downloading and completing the consultation feedback form and then emailing your completed form to us at: standards@hiqa.ie.

  • Alternatively you can post the completed form to us at: Health Information and Quality Authority, Draft National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres Consultation, Unit 1301, City Gate, Mahon, Cork, T12 Y2XT.

The public consultation will run until 5pm on Thursday 02 November 2017. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to accept late submissions.
