Stakeholder Consultation – Social Care Workers Registration Board

CORU is seeking your feedback on its draft Profession Specific Criteria for Education and Training Programmes for Social Care Workers and draft Standards of Proficiency for Social Care Workers. For more information please click here.

Irish Association of Social Care Workers and Social Care Ireland have formed a working group to review and prepare consultation on these documents. IASCW and Social Care Ireland members can send consultation responses to cpd@iascw.ie by March 30th for consideration by the working group who will submit an overall response to CORU by April 8th.

The draft documents are available to view now. Please note there are 2 separate documents being considered through this consultation. However, 3 documents are being provided for you to read in preparation for participation in the consultation.

Please read:

  • Core Criteria for Education and Training Programmes
  • Draft Profession Specific Criteria for Education and Training Programmes for Social Care Workers
  • Draft Standards of Proficiency for Social Care Workers

Please read these documents in advance of providing feedback. Please note the survey will only deal with the profession specific elements in both documents under consultation. The survey will extract these from the documents for the purpose of providing specific feedback.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and this will enable your views to be taken into account in the finalisation of the Profession Specific Criteria for Education and Training Programmes for Social Care Workers and Standards of Proficiency for Social Care Workers. If you would like to take part in the survey, please click here.

The consultation process will close at 5pm on Friday April 08 2016.

Any submissions received after this time cannot be considered.

Please direct any queries to education@coru.ie
