HIQA are delighted to announce the launch of their innovative Lexicon for Social Care, a resource which will benefit of all those working in, engaging with or learning about social care services. The lexicon is a live, ever-evolving resource which aims to standardise frequently used words and terms in social care settings, as well as to better support people’s understanding of the language used in the services they access. CORU Announce Appointment of Sheila McClelland as CEO   Sheila McClelland has been announced as the new CEO of the Health and Social Care Professional’s Council, CORU. Ms McClelland who is currently the CEO of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) will take up her appointment on 8 April 2024. PETMA© focuses on preventing service users from getting distressed, using intense modules to facilitate an understanding of the realities of having disabilities and how this impacts their ability to understand and comprehend information.
